Completing his medical studies with honors from the Faculta and Tel Aviv University, Dr. Ami Hirsh continued his internship at the Opthalmology Unit located at Tel Hashomer Hospital, Tel Aviv, Israel.
Dr. Hirsh designed, established and directed the Laser Surgery Clinic at Tel Hashomer Hospital performing as a senior surgeon and director of the Opthalmic division of both Tel Hashomer and Herzliya Medical Center. He was collaborative in the development of treatment for Glaucoma patients, designing a new approach of reducing inner eye pressure. Furthermore, he engineered a unique laser procedure to correct astigmatism (cylinder).
Dr. Hirsh continues to educate, guide and certify physicians who seek to perform Refractive Laser Surgery. He instructs and coaches both physicians and related medical staff in the field of Refraction in Israel as well as worldwide. For years Dr. Hirsch has been a consultant for the Israeli Draft and Security Office in Israel.
