Dr. Hyams is an Opthalmic specialist who performs refractive laser surgeries, cataract surgery, and corneal procedures including corneal graft transplantation. He completed his medical studies at the medical faculty, Technion, Haifa.

Dr. Hyams finalized his internship at Carmel Hospital located in Haifa, Israel. Subsequently, he studied at Toronto Western Hospital, Canada, specializing in the field of corneal surgeries and treatments and anterior segment. After his residency in Canada, Dr. Hyams returned to Carmel Hospital in Haifa to manage the corneal division of the Opthalmic Clinic, additionally As an ophthalmologist at "CLALIT" HMO.
Subsequently, Dr. Hyams performed as director of the Corneal Transplant Bank at Carmel Hospital, developing and advancing the domain of corneal transplants.
Dr. Hyams is a long standing member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS) as well as the Israeli Society of Opthalmologists. Furthermore, he provides guidance and supervision to medical students at the Technion, Haifa.
Presently, Dr. Hyams participates as a senior staff surgeon at Enaim Medical Center, Azrieli, Tel Aviv and provides his services at the Haifa branch of Enaim Medical Center and at Carmel hospital.. Equally notable, he volunteers his time to patients from Ghana, Africa that arrive for treatments through the association of “Unite for Sight” supported by Carmel Hospital in Haifa and “Ein Mitzion” an ialliance for the treatment of patients from Ethiopia.
