Dr. Shmuel Levinger

Senior Ophthalmologist. Corneal, Refractive, and Cataract surgeon. Founder and Medical Manager of 'Enaim' Medical centers and 'Enaim' Optical Stores chain. A graduate of the Hebrew University Medical School, Jerusalem. Dr. Levinger completed his Ophthalmology internship at the prestigious Hadassah Hospital ophthalmic department in Jerusalem.

Prior to his present position, He was the director of the Ophthalmology unit at Hadassah Har Hatzofim and the head of Hadassah's institute for ophthalmic laser treatments. 

As part of the Israeli Foreign Ministry's initiatives in underdeveloped countries, Dr. Levinger was the manager of the Ophthalmology department in Malawi, Africa, for three years and established an ophthalmic unit at Tashkent hospital in Uzbekistan. 

Consultant for 'Herzog' Hospital and for the 'Keren Or' foundation which treats disabled children suffering from severe developmental issues.

For many years Dr. Levinger was a voluntarily consultant for the department of Ophthalmic Pathology in Premature Babies at the 'Bikur Cholim' hospital, until its recent closure. 

Dr. Levinger is a qualified instructor for the training of ophthalmologists in the field of Refractive surgery. 

He was the first in Israel to implement LASIK and intraLASIK in the field of Refractive surgery, and Neurovison technology for the treatment of Amblyopia in adults. 

Dr. Levinger has pioneered a vast diversity of ophthalmic methods worldwide with the assistance of the most progressive state of the art equipment available.

These include Multifocal Intraocular lens implants in Cataract surgery, Cataract laser, Intraocular lens implants for visual correction,  Intra corneal rings implants for Keratoconus , Corneal graft via laser (IEK), Pterygium, Avastin injections, tears duct treatment(DCR),  consultation and  treatment of Keratoconus, Amblyopia(lazy eye syndrome),Lacrimal plugs and Blepharoplasty(eyelid surgeries) . 

For years, Dr. Levinger has been a member of the Association of Israeli Ophthalmologists, in the corneal, refractive and cataract division. 

He is a respected member of the AAO (American Academy of Ophthalmologists) and the ISRS (International Society for Refractive Surgery). 

In addition, he is the Israeli representative for AECOS, the American-European Congress of Ophthalmology. 

Dr. Levinger initiated and organized several multitude international conferences for ophthalmologists and related medical staff.

 He has performed as lecturer, debater, and mentor throughout the years both nationally and internationally Additionally, Dr. Levinger has prepared, participated and initiated many research projects in the realm of ophthalmology.
